SAN FRANCISCO MIXTAPE SOCIETY

The SFMTS was a quarterly event dedicated to the art of making mixtapes. Each event had a theme for participants to create a mix around and then exchange at the venue. The event became wildly popular, sparking sister chapters in NY, LA, Portland, Toronto and Chicago. As founders of the club we became the de facto voices of the mixtape resurgence and were interviewed by NPR, GQ, and the New York Times. As the event grew we collaborated with brands like Pabst Blue Ribbon, Matador Records, Treasure Island and California Academy of Sciences to create bespoke prizes and events.

John Verrochi, Creative Director

Hi there. I’m a creative and strategic leader with over 15 years of experience working with super big, fancy brands like Reebok, EA Sports, MINI Cooper, NFL, Foot Locker and Anheuser-Busch. As a creative mutant type thing, I’m about 50% art director, 50% copywriter, 50% designer and 0% mathematician.  I do a better job of explaining myself over here. ︎︎︎
